Why Is My Sanding Belt Burning the Material? Causes & Fixes
If your sanding belt is burning the material, leaving dark marks or creating excessive heat,
it usually means the abrasive is generating too much friction and is no longer cutting efficiently.

Once this happens, the operator often applies more pressure to compensate, which increases friction and heat even further.
