Description
The Karbosan CER51 Ceramic Fibre Disc is a high-performance, heavy-duty sanding and grinding disc engineered with aggressive ceramic abrasive grains for demanding industrial metalworking applications.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Karbosan CER51 Ceramic Fibre Disc features premium ceramic abrasive grains bonded to a strong vulcanised fibre backing. Ceramic abrasives are known for their self-sharpening properties, maintaining a consistently sharp cutting edge throughout the life of the disc. Combined with the strength of the fibre backing, this ensures outstanding durability, fast cut rates, and extended service life under sustained pressure.
This makes the CER51 disc especially suitable for heavy grinding tasks on steels where heat control, longevity, and aggressive performance are essential.
KEY BENEFITS
- Premium ceramic abrasive grain for very high stock removal and long disc life.
• Self-sharpening action maintains consistent cutting performance.
• Vulcanised fibre backing for strength and durability under heavy pressure.
• Reduced heat build-up compared to conventional abrasives, protecting the workpiece.
• Ideal for weld blending, edge grinding, and surface preparation on ferrous metals.
• Consistent performance across the full life of the disc.
• Professional quality for workshop, site, and industrial environments.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATIONS
The CER51 Ceramic Fibre Disc excels in surface preparation, weld blending, deburring, edge finishing, and rapid stock removal on metals. It is particularly effective on stainless steel (INOX), alloy steels, carbon steels, and cast iron where aggressive grinding and disc longevity are required.
Suitable for use with angle grinders and fixed sanding machines in fabrication shops, manufacturing plants, construction, and heavy maintenance operations.
Typical sizes include 100 × 16 mm, 115 × 22.23 mm, 125 × 22.23 mm and 180 × 22.23 mm.
Available grit range: P24 to P120.
STORAGE & HANDLING
Store flat in a dry, clean environment away from moisture, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight. Always ensure compatibility with your grinder or machine, and do not exceed the stated maximum RPM.
Before use, inspect discs for damage or defects — do not use discs that have cracks, chips, or visible deformities. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when grinding. Follow machine manufacturer safety guidelines at all times.
