ALUMINIUM OXIDE

• Dark red or brown
• Best at low pressures
• Light grinding, e.g. graining surface
• X/Y-weight (stiff) or J-Flex (flexible)

ZIRCONIA

• Blue or green
• Optional topcoat for cooler grinding
• More durable & lasts longer than alox
• Works best at high pressures

CERAMIC

• Green, red or orange
• Fast cut, long-lasting if used correctly
• Optional topcoat for cooler grinding
• Optimal at medium/high pressures

SILICON CARBIDE / CORK

• Black
• Always sharp
• Gives clean bright cut
• Suited for lower pressures
• Use on stone & glass

SCM / NON-WOVEN

• Brown, purple, green, other
• Sometimes called ‘scotchbrite’
• Conditions surface
• Little/no stock removal

TRIZACT

• Grey
• Sharper, more consistent cut than SCM
• Precise finishing
• Works well at medium pressure
• Smooth, brushed finish

AGGLOMERATE

• Brown
• Compact grain, long-lasting
• Even, consistent finish
• Ideal for brushed finish
• Stiff X-weight or flexible J-weight

FELT

• Yellow
• For final stage fine finishing
• Use with polishing compounds
• No stock removal, for polishing only
• Recommended for use on metals and glass
